How to kill your Children's Creative Desire
in 13 wonderful ways

Now a days most of the parents are killing their children’s creative desire in the name of future careers. Here are 13 wonderful ways to do that more effectively. Let us move towards that killing zone…

Don’t give them many books.
Don’t give them many books. If they read thousands of books, they will get inspiration. That inspiration will make them to see the world in a broader way.
Then they may lose interest in their school books. Who dares to say that 5 or 6 school books are not more important than those thousands of other books? Who is to say that 95 or 100 percent marks are not more important than having good understanding of this universe and more absorbing levels? Maybe these things will make the child an inventor like Leonardo davinci in the future. But who cares?

All we want for our child is a seat in a good college and later a job in a corporate.

Don’t encourage them to do drawing and painting.

Don’t encourage them to do drawing and painting. Drawing and painting will improve their observation, concentration and thinking skills. And it will give them fun and pleasure! Even though we joined them in Art schools, if they do not draw and paint as well as we expect them, then what is the use of fun and pleasure ? ...without proper improvement! It’s a waste. To us class room education is important. We don’t need our children to become good thinkers like Aristotle and plato. Send them to class rooms where they will read 5 or 6 books through out year to write exams. It will be good for their career. Who knows it better than us, parents!

Make them do more and more home work.

Make them do more and more home work. It will bring them the best ranks in the school. Maybe in this process they may lose imaginative thinking. Who cares? What will this imaginative thinking do? It may turn them into an Einstein, a Newton or a Columbus or most probably a Billgates! Is it necessary for us to make our children like them? Not at all! Our children will become software engineers and they will work in U.S. or they may do an MBA or some such thing and do business with bank loans. That’s all we want! To achieve our desire, let the schools give them more home work. Do you know what will happen because of home work? After going to bed they will dream about home work. There won’t be any dreams of a colorful imaginative universe. In that universe your child may be a prince or princess or magician. They will fight with the demons and devils. In the end they will become a great warriors, emperors…everything whatever they want to be. Because of home work and excessive pressure children may loose these dreams! So what? We would have successfully killed their fantasies. Now our children will get 98 or 99 marks. Is it not important than becoming great warriors and powerful queens in their dreams ?

Make your children conscious of their external appearance…

This one plays a very very good role in killing creative desire in children. Make your children conscious of their external appearance… how they look to others. It is very important. Buy the best dresses, expensive shoes… every thing… every thing what ever they use, they must be expensive. Then they will be recognized as some thing special. Our children‘s appearance shows our status in the society. Who needs creative desire? Creators never bother about their external appearance. Always they think about their inner self! Our children don’t need to be like that.

You have no time to listen.

After coming from the school or reading some exiting book they will come to you to tell most exciting thing. But…what you will do? You are busy with some important issues! You have no time to listen. Because you may not listen to them, they may get hurt. They may feel a lot of pain. So…what? After all…they are children. They may not be able to understand your busy affairs. You could not help it. As a parent you are giving every thing to them! An expensive school, best tuitions… all good things in the life you are giving to them. What more can you do!?

Better listen to them…

Teachers! Better listen to them…if you want to kill your children’s creative desire as quickly as possible. By nature most of the teachers are not really teachers. They are working as teachers. This world is having very few good teachers. These teachers who are really not teachers will tell you about your child’s ranks and marks, and moreover about discipline. Some of the teachers talk a lot about freedom for children and zero home work. But all they are doing is, imposing their kind of child friendly education. Here the key word is “imposing”. This is another way of restricting the child’s imagination. Moving in restricted lines and order are not the characteristics of the creative child. Order comes only from disorder. Teachers and parents don’t like disorder. But that is the way universe is functioning. Order in disorder.

So many competitions

Competitions are another best source. So many competitions … Talent search, painting, essay writing, dance, music… you name it, you see them all. Use them fully. Don’t lose the opportunity. Usually competitions focus on a specific area. Putting focus on a certain area is adults character. Seeing the things as a whole is children’s nature. By pushing them to competitions you are trying to make them think like adults. By nature children are more creative than adults. They think like creators. To make children think like an adult you are successfully killing their creative desire. A nice and beautiful thing!

How unlucky you are

This is one of the most powerful tools to kill children’s creative desire. Whenever your child is not getting good marks tell him how his other classmates are scoring good marks and ranks…how fortunate their parents are… how unlucky you are…! It’s enough to make him to lose his confidence about his ability. Then they will kill their creative desire themselves. That will make your job easier.

Another powerful source

This is another powerful source of killing creative desire with unimaginable destructive force. With out knowing the real sense of creativity if you began to talk about it continuously, it may confuse your child. If you express oftenly that your child is something unique and creative, If the child absorbs these words deeply, his creative desire will be diverted to another area. That other area will be himself.
This technique will successfully kill the child’s creative desire. Because the basic character of the creator is…’ He does not think he is special, he is too absorbed in his work, to think about himself.’

My child is not active.

Whenever your relatives or friends are in your house tell them repeatedly in the presence of your child…“My child is not active. He is dull and poor in studies.” Then your child will get the message that he is not good at studies. After that his performance will become duller.

Its enough

Once your child does some creative work, tell him this way… “Its O.K. But you should do better than this…” It is enough. Immediately the child will lose the inspiration to create.

Creative desire will disappear

Children are not liars. As a parent when you are lying to somebody slowly they will also learn how to lie. Liars never become creators. Because it is the character which will make you a creator. So make your child a liar. Then creative desire will disappear.

Money is every thing

Tell repeatedly to your child… “I am spending a lot of money on you. You have to work hard.” It is enough to change their character. They will begin to think about the money. They will get the message ‘Money is everything’. Here the story ends. The person who thinks ‘money is every thing’ never becomes a creator.

Dear parents…don’t do this. Your child is creative. Not only your child…all children are creative. Parents and teachers have to help them to improve. Improving creativity means developing a character. Which will be selfless, which will be useful to others. In the end it is the character that matters.
