things can be said repetitively in different angles....
May this is a repetition of what I already said, but
some things can be said repetitively in different angles....
I
am thinking, in another layer, more than composition or other
elements of art, What we need in painting is ... 'subject'
or a 'story', I mean 'essence' which we - artists want to
communicate with the viewer. To communicate this essence we
are constructing a structure. To construct that structure
we need tools. And we need experience to use those tools.
Because of individual character every person uses those tools
in an unique way. People call it 'Originality'. This originality
can be more powerful if it has a powerful essence to communicate
with the viewer. To present the story powerfully we are using
our tools ' value, composition' etc.
But
the problem is, many artists are not understanding this truth.
Their thinking mostly moves around the tools. So they are
using their valuable time only on this act. I think this may
be the main reason for the frustration of most artists.
We will go little bit deeper into this. For example, a carpenter
or a mechanic or a software engineer or anybody, if they have
to learn about their chosen field, they will involve in some
work By doing that work and to achieve results, they will
learn how to use the necessary tools. Here the main thing
is.. doing the work. Using tools are secondary. Because of
this approach they will earn expertise depending upon their
desire to do well their work.
In
art also we have to follow the same approach. But ...I don't
think it's happening. I personally feel we are thinking more
about tools than essence. If you concentrate on essence your
intuition will develop. That intuition makes you the best,
not the tools....
